Teaching Plan: Adolescent Health

This teaching plan focuses on the health needs of adolescents and young people, aged 12-24, a group that represents 18% of Australia’s population, with 3.4% identifying as Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander. Given that adolescent health issues are primarily psychosocial and involve the establishment of lifelong risky behaviors, GPs are ideally positioned to provide early intervention and comprehensive care, though managing this age group can be challenging for GP registrars.
