Article in Australian Doctor News, highlighting that GP practices taking on registrars are collectively losing millions each year, with the supervision of a trainee in their first term costing more than $52,000, according to a new study new study.
“This research reflects what we previously suspected, that GP supervision and training in general practice is underfunded and GP supervisors are largely working on a voluntary basis to support registrars in training practices,” said Dr Nicole Higgins, chair of General Practice Supervisors Australia.
