The first Practice Manager to be appointed as a Director on the Board of GPTA Ltd t/as GPSA, since 2001 Leonie has been the Finance and Administration Manager at Blackburn Clinic, a training practice in the eastern suburbs of Melbourne. In June 2022, she also stepped into the part-time role of GPSA's Chief Operations Officer.
Leonie is passionate about ensuring GP registrars not only receive great clinical training but that they are also equipped with the skills and breadth of knowledge needed once they have fellowed and entered the world of General Practice as independent businesspeople. Leonie has presented to registrars at both MCCC and EVGPT workshops and has also regularly presented to practice managers on issues including the NTCER, recruitment and business development.
Prior to her time at Blackburn Clinic, Leonie worked in KPMG’s Melbourne office in both taxation and Middle Market Advisory divisions.
In 2015, Leonie was presented with the inaugural VMA Practice Manager of the Year Award, an achievement of which she is rightfully very proud.
Away from work, Leonie is married with 2 adult children, 2 very pampered dogs, and a long-suffering cat.
