Supervisors are key to the success of the registrar. Not only in helping them to achieve Fellowship but they are also the role model for how the registrar interacts with patients and the rest of the practice team now and into the future.

A supervisor:

  • is a doctor who has already undergone the training for general practice and has their Fellowship

  • provides practice based education for the registrar as well as support and mentorship
  • nn
  • must undertake training themselves and become accredited under the training program
  • nn
  • is required to complete training reports and appraisals during the course of the registrar placement and is encouraged to undertake relevant continual professional development
