  • GP registrars on the AGPT Fellowship pathway are required to be employed through their training. Registrars have the same entitlements as any other employee in regard to superannuation and paid annual/personal leave.u00a0

  • GPs (non registrar) generally have service agreements in place and pay the practice a fee to use the practice equipment and resources.

  • GPs are generally not employees.

  • GPs work independently for themselves and have control over their leave, session scheduling, fees, billing protocols.

  • The AGPT registrar as an employee abides by the practiceu2019s decisions about billing policy, systems and processes relevant to seeing patients and providing healthcare services.

  • Registrars need to discuss leave applications with the practice.

  • The practice is responsible for registraru2019s wellbeing and safety when they are at work and must follow all legislative requirements in relation to the employer/employee relationship.
